The Cultural Council organized ‘Gandhiji-The Mahatma’ an inter-collegiate essay writing and presentation competition on 30th January 2017. This event is held annually to mark the death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
The topic of essay was ‘Corruption and Hypocrisy Ought Not to be Inevitable Products of Democracy, as they undoubtedly are Today.
Written entries were submitted by the colleges prior to the event. On the day of the event, students had to give a presentation on the essay submitted. The event began with the Principal, Dr. Mrs. Prita Mallya welcoming the participants. Dr. Manoj Kamat and Mrs. Alison Almeida judged the event on the basis of written essays as well as presentations by the participants.
Six colleges participated and St.Xaviers, Mapusa emerged as the Winners and G.R.Law college, Margao as Runners up. The event concluded with prize distribution ceremony. Certificates and trophies were awarded to the participants and winners by the principal Dr. Mrs. Prita Mallya, judges and event coordinators Mrs.Pooja Pai Khot and Ms.Prachi Kolamkar. Mrs. Pooja Pai Khot member Cultural Council proposed the vote of thanks.
