The Yuva Tourism Club and the Department of English & Communication jointly organised an Essay Writing Competition on the topic ‘Tourism Industry of Goa: Current Status & Future Potential’, on the occasion of National Tourism Day on 25th January 2023.
The competition was organised to spread awareness about the tourism sector in Goa and also to understand students’ views and opinions on the topic. Participants were given 10 days’ time to submit a complete essay of 350 words. 17 students participated in the competition, of whom Ms. Fenisa Dias, Ms. Vaishnavi Mhamal and Ms. Ruby Mahato won first, second and third prizes respectively. Mr. Ainsley Bernard, Convenor of the Yuva Tourism Club and Ms. Samiksha Vengurlekar, Assistant Professor in English, jointly organized the competition, which was judged by Ms. Lizette D’Costa and Ms. Stesa Periera, Assistant Professors in Economics.
