Government College of Arts, Science & Commerce Quepem- Goa organized an Inter-collegiate Economics Quiz Competition ‘Arthamanthan 0.4’ on the theme ‘Viksit Bharat’ on 26 th March 2024.
Mr. Eville Rodrigues and Mr. Vaibhav Bandodkar from F.Y. BBA(FS) participated and secured first place in the event. The competition commenced with a preliminary round at 10:00 am, spanning 20 minutes and comprising 20 questions. These questions spanned various domains including finance, economy, and science. Both participants excelled in this round, securing their places for the subsequent rounds.
Following the preliminary round, a final round ensued, consisting of 5 distinct segments. The first two rounds progressed smoothly, featuring multiple-choice questions (MCQs). However, the dynamics shifted in the subsequent rounds as incorrect answers incurred negative points, posing a challenge to the participants. The third round adopted an audio format, while the fourth round introduced a picture-link challenge where participants had to deduce a common phenomenon.
The climax of the competition was the rapid-fire round, injecting an element of urgency and excitement. Despite the challenges posed, both participants secured the First Place in the event defending 12 teams and acknowledged valuable takeaways from the experience, emphasizing the importance of staying updated on various topics and honing critical thinking skills.
Overall, ‘Arthamanthan 0.4’ proved to be an engaging and enriching experience for all involved, fostering intellectual growth and promoting a deeper understanding of economic concepts within the context of a developing India.
