Diwali Celebrations

The Staff Recreation Club organized Diwali Celebrations for the teaching and non-teaching staff of the College on 26th October 2022 from 12.15 p.m. onwards. The dress theme for the day was Indian Ethnic (Festive outfit).

A ceremony of lighting of lamp was organised for the staff members in the Quadrangle of the main building. The venue was decorated in a picturesque manner with handmade Akash Kandeels by the students of the College using eco-friendly material. A beautiful floral rangoli decoration along with diyas highlighting the Diwali theme was also done by the students of the College. Ms. Preksha Chopdekar, Convenor of Staff Recreation Club welcomed the staff members for the programme. The Principal, Vice-Principal, IQAC Coordinator and Heads of Departments lit the lamp followed by the celebration of Diwali festival. Staff members also brought in Diwali themed snacks to share with each other as a part of the celebration.

As a part of this celebration, an off-stage event – Diya Painting/Decorating Competition – was organized for the staff of the College. The competition began at 12.15 p.m. The participants were given diyas for painting and decorating with creative decorative material and paint. 10 teaching and non-teaching staff members of the College enthusiastically participated in this competition showcasing their talent and creative artistic skills. Mr. Sandesh Gaonkar, Asst. Professor in Commerce won the first prize, Ms. Lizette D’Costa, Asst. Professor in Economics won the second prize and Ms. Marjina Shaikh won the third prize in the competition. The competition was coordinated by Ms. Sushrusha Naik Khandekar, member of the Staff Recreation Club.
