The Department of Management organized an Orientation Program for the first year students of BBA(Financial Services) Programme on 20thJuly 2022 from 10:45 a.m. to 12:05 p.m. in Hall No.: 2, 5th Floor, Central Block. The Program was intended to make the students aware of the academic, co-curricular, extra-curricular activities of the BBA(FS) Programme and the rules and regulations of the College.
The Orientation Program began with a melodious prayer by Asst Prof. Ashwini Devari. Prof. Prita D. Mallya, Principal of the College, welcomed all the students and briefed them about the rules and regulations of the College. Sheemphasized on the active involvement of students in seminars, workshops, curricular, co-curricular and extracurricular activities of the College and the Department for the holistic development of the students. The Principal also encapsulated the different scholarships available for the students. Dr. Rodney D’Silva, Vice-Principal of the College, introduced the faculty members to the newly admitted students.
Asst. Prof. Ms. Cinola Vaz, Head of the Department of the Department of Management began the session by welcoming all the students. She informed the students that the BBA(FS) Programme is a three-year integrated degree programme affiliated to Goa University and aims to enhance students’ knowledge and skills in Financial Services. She informed the students that VVM’s Shree Damodar College of Commerce & Economics is celebrating its 50thGolden Jubilee during the Academic Year 2022-2023 and encouraged the students to willingly participate in all the activities.
Asst. Prof. Snehal Alve briefed the students about the Programme structure and evaluation criteria while Asst. Prof. Ashwini Devari enlightened the students on how the course bridges the gap between academia and industry by conducting guest lectures, webinars/seminars, and job-oriented courses that assist students in upskilling and placement training.
Asst. Prof. Cinola Vaz addressed the queries raised by the students. A total of 63 participants attended the session. The session ended at 12:05 p.m., with a Vote of Thanks proposed by Asst Prof. Abigale Rodrigues.
