The Debators’ Floor of the Post-Graduate Department of Commerce (M.Com) of the College organized the first debate of the academic year 2018-19 on 14th July 2018. The topic for the debate was Use of Plastic: Self-Regulation or Government Prohibition? Students from M.Com Part I and II participated in the debate.
The Debators’ in the ‘Self-Regulation’ team were – Ms. Veronica Pereira, Ms. Chelcy Cardozo, Ms. Anushka Prabhu, Ms. Pooja Talaunekar and Mr. Akash M. The Debators’ in the ‘Government Prohibition’ team were- Ms. Shweta Malvankar, Ms. Glory Nuthalpatti, Ms. Shamim Shaikh, Mr. Ravi Gani and Ms. Sonia De Mascarenhas.
Ex- students of the College M.Com programme, Mr. Maxwell Pinto and Ms. Mruga Keni were the judges for the event and the moderator for the debate was Mr. Akshay Naik, faculty, M.Com Department. The students put forth meaningful and valid arguments and interjections. Non-participating students formed a very enthusiastic and appreciative audience.

The debate concluded with the judges awarding certificates to the winners.
