Damodar Youth Festival

The Students’ Council of the College organized the annual “Damodar Youth festival” from 16th to 21st December, 2019 in the Multipurpose Hall.

The events were as follows.

Day 1- 16th December 2019, Theme: Christmas Colours

On this day the students and the teachers wore different colours of Christmas, such as Red, Green, Gold, etc. Two on-stage events namely Carol Singing and Dance Battle were held. A total of 18 students in teams of three each participated in the Carol Singing Competition. Winona Fernandez and Group won the first place inthis competition,which was judged by Dr. Edwin B. Barreto, Ms. Lizia Veronica Gomes and Ms.Meher Rodrigues. For Dance Battle, the Judges were Mrs. Prachi Kolamkar and Ms. Trisha Vadil. Dance Battle was between groups followed by the face off. A total of 12 students in teams of two each,participated in the competition. The first place was bagged by Chelcy Cardozo and group. Girls face off was won by Chelcy Cardozo and in Boys face off the winner was Mr. Bhogesh Molgavalli.

Day 2- 17th December 2019, Theme:- Western Formals

The event for this day was Mr. and Ms. Damodar, which was held in three rounds. In the first round contestants introduced themselves, which was followed by the talent round.The judges selectedthe top five contestants, who displayed their talents in the first 2 rounds and qualified for the final question and answer round.

A total of 13 students participated in this competition. Mr. Amaan Makandar of FY B.Com won the title of Mr. Damodar and Ms. Chrisliza Gonsalves of TY B.Com was crowned Ms. Damodar. The Competition was judged by Mr. Errol D’Mello, Dr. Maithili Naik and Mr. Ajinkya Kudtarkar.

Day 3- 18th December 2019, Theme: – Indo Western

Two off-stage events namely Photography and Meme were organisedon this day. The first off-stage event for the day was Meme. Mr. Damodar Naik was declared the winner of this competition, judged by Ms. Madhumeeta Dhar. The second off-stage event was Photography and Mr. Deepesh Pandit won the competition, which was judged by Mr. Sumit Kumar.

Day 4- 20th December 2019, Theme: – Halloween

The off-stage event organised on the 4th day was Treasure Hunt. 39 students participated in teams of 3 students each. Hemant Phoolwari, Saish Naik and Vikas Shenvi won the 1st Place. Sakina Shaikh, Saloni Pattanshetty and Yeshda Prabhu won the 2nd Place, Abhishek Patel, Jai Patel and Gourish Bhatikar won the 3rd Place.

Day 5- 21st December 2019, Theme: – Anything, But Clothes

On the fifth and the final day,the off-stage event was Strong Man &Strong Woman. 6 students participated. SwapnilGalvewas the winner of Strong Man and PriyaPai Vaidya was the winner of Strong Woman.

At the culmination of the fest, prizes were distributed to all the deserving winners.
