

The inaugural function was graced by Ms. Pratima Dhond, Vice President of Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as the Chief Guest. She was accompanied on the dais by the Officiating Principal, Prof. Sanjay P. Sawant Dessai, Vice Principal of Administration, Dr. Shami Pai, Ms. Deepali Naik (Project Director – DRDA South), Dr. Lira M. Gama (HoD, Department of Economics & Banking), Ms. Snehal Alve (Coordinator, BBA (FS) Program), Dr. Sonya Angle (Coordinator, BBA Program), Ms. Ranjita Pai, and Ms. Shambhavi Kamat.
The event commenced with the lighting of the traditional lamp and garlanding of the image of Lord Shree Damodar by the Chief Guest and dignitaries. In his welcome address, Prof. Sanjay P. Sawant Dessai highlighted the importance of small businesses adapting to modern trends such as e-commerce and grocery delivery apps. Ms. Pratima Dhond encouraged women entrepreneurs to take advantage of available institutional support to market their products and emphasized the significance of networking and building connections for business growth.
The event witnessed an enthusiastic participation of 33 women entrepreneurs and 10 college student entrepreneurs, setting up stalls that displayed a wide array of products, including: Garments, Accessories, Food products, Decorative item, Gift items etc.
The stalls received an overwhelming response from students, parents, and the general public, who actively engaged with the entrepreneurs and purchased their products, making the event a grand success.
Expected Outcome of the Activity:
The event aimed to promote community engagement by bringing together entrepreneurs, students, and the local community to foster economic activity. It also sought to encourage entrepreneurship by providing a platform for budding entrepreneurs, especially students and women, to showcase their products and build business acumen. Additionally, the activity contributed to women empowerment by supporting female entrepreneurs and self-help groups, enabling them to gain visibility, network with potential customers, and develop sustainable business practices.
