Asst. Prof. Ruchira Naik conducted a community outreach programme at Ashtavinayak Hall at Sanvorcotto, Cuncolim, Salcete, at 4.30 pm on Sunday, 24th March 2019.
The topic was Awareness on Government Schemes for Women. 17 women residing at Sanvorcotto ward attended the interactive programme. The women were first asked if they were aware about the various schemes which are available for them and whether they are taking benefit of those schemes. The women also expressed the difficulties they face while applying for these schemes.
Thereafter they were made aware of various schemes available for them which are enforced by the Department of Women and Child Development and Department of Social Welfare. They were provided information on the following topics for getting the benefits of different schemes:-
- Where the application forms for different schemes are available
- What documents they have to produce along with the forms for different schemes
- Which office to approach for assistance
- Where registration (if any) is to be done
The programme ended with a vote of thanks to all the participants. The participants expressed their gratitude to the teacher for arranging such a beneficial programme.
