To commemorate World Sparrow Day on 20th March 2023, Vasundhara (Green Club) of the College screened a video on the importance of sparrows for students of the B.Com Programme.
Sparrows are known to be an indicator of a region’s environmental health, and their decreasing numbers are cause for concern. This day is designated to raise awareness about sparrow conservation and protection, as their numbers are declining globally. The theme of World Sparrow Day 2023 is “I Love Sparrows”, with the goal of encouraging more people to appreciate the relationship between humans and sparrows. Thus, with the aim of appreciating and creating awareness about sparrows and their conservation, students were explained about World Sparrow Day and the theme for this year. The video was then screened in the FY B.Com, SY B.Com and TY B.Com Classes. 160 students of FY B.Com, 139 students of SY B.Com and 35 students of TY B.Com were a part of this activity.
