The Internal Quality Assurance Cell, Department of Management Studies and the Department of Economics & Banking of the College in association with Goa State Biodiversity Board, Mahila Mandal Madgaon and Aamhi Udyogini Pratishthan organized “Christmas Fiesta” on 16th December 2023 from 9.00 am to 1.00 pm in Hall No 1 of the Central Block.
This event as a part of an outreach programme aimed to provide a platform for local vendors fostering the promotion of their products and igniting the entrepreneurial spirit among students. 42 stalls were a part of this event, comprising 37 stalls by local vendors and 5 by students.
The Compere, Ms. Dhriti Bene, a student of FY B.Com, welcomed the participants and visitors to “Christmas Fiesta”.
As a part of the inaugural, the event commenced with the ribbon cutting followed by the lighting of the lamp. Mrs. Reshma Kerkar, Scientific and Administrative Officer, Goa State Biodiversity Board was the Chief Guest for the day. Ms. Brionna, a student of TY B.Com introduced the Chief Guest.
The Principal Dr. Prita D. Mallya expressed her sincere gratitude to all the participants for their outstanding efforts in putting up a wide range of stalls and conveyed her wishes for a successful event. Mrs. Reshma Kerkar in her address commended the participants for their immense enthusiasm and dedication in setting up a plethora of stalls. The dais was also graced by other dignitaries namely, Mrs Deepali Naik, Project Director DRDA South Goa, Mrs Ranjita Pai, Chairperson of the Goa State Commission for Women and Mrs Rina Panandikar, President of Mahila Mandal Madgaon.
A variety of stalls displaying an array of items including eatables and delicious Christmas sweets, jewellery, scented candles, handmade organic products, clothing and home decor were offered for sale. The event was open to the general public as well as the staff and students of the College, who enjoyed shopping during the event.
Dr. Lira M. Gama, Head, Department of Economics & Banking proposed the Vote of Thanks. The Christmas Fiesta was a celebration of community, creativity and entrepreneurship. The event was a great success. The teachers in charge of the event were Dr. Lina Sadekar, IQAC Coordinator, Dr Lira M. Gama, HoD, Economics & Banking and Mrs. Snehal Alve, HoD Management Studies.
