The Department of Computer Science in association with IP-Gates organized a 30-hour certificate course for BCA students from 5th-12th February 2024 by way of a workshop. The workshop was organized to help students of SY BCA to get theoretical and practical knowledge on IT infrastructure management that is currently required by all companies. This workshop was conducted by IP-Gates, a Goa based IT training company.
The Resource Persons from IP-Gates were Mr. Dwayne Afonso and Ms. Synora Rodriques. 25 students attended workshop.
The workshop started with a walkthrough of basic fundamentals of IT networking. Students were briefed and shown examples of the various building blocks of IT infrastructure. Students were taught about installing virtual machines, servers and deploying them and learnt about the various tools to configure, test and set up servers and networks. Students also learnt about core networking technologies and practical requirements to run a company wide network.
Students appreciated the workshop as it opened an avenue for them that is different from software development. After attending this workshop, a couple of students expressed interest in pursuing CCNA certification.
