Certificate Course in Computerised Accounting for Business (Tally PrimePro)

The Certificate Course Committee and the Department of Commerce & Management organised a 30 hrs Certificate Course on ‘Computerised Accounting for Business (Tally PrimePro)’ for the Second Year and Third Year B.Com students. The class was conducted thrice a week in classroom F-103. The Resource Person for the Course was Mr. William Vaz, Proprietor, Comtech Academy. The objective of the course was to impart knowledge regarding Accounting concepts, Inventory Management, working with GST, advanced Accounting and lnventory Management, GST Returns Filling Stock Management, different Modes of Voucher Entry, Invoicing and so on. The students were required to carry their laptops for all the sessions. During the course, the students learnt the following topics with hands-on practical exposure:

  • Introduction to Tally Accounting (Groups, Ledgers, Vouchers, Creating New Voucher Type), Inventory / Stock Management (Groups, Categories, Units of Measures, Godown, Items, Inventory Vouchers), Different Modes of Voucher Entry, Invoicing
  • GST in Tally, GSTR-I, GSTR-II transactions, GST Reports, Online Returns Filling, Transactions

Recording upto Finalisation.

  • Advanced Corporate Level Module: a) Bill wise Details, Import/Export of Data, Back Up & restore, Bank Reconciliation, Cheque Printing, Budgets, Re-Order Level Zero Valued Entries, POS Invoice, b) Order Processing, Batch Wise Details, Price Lists, TDS.
  • Shortcut Keys, Security, Printing in Tally, Configuring Tally, split data based on Financial Years.

The students answered an exam at the end of the course. 50 students successfully completed the course and received certificates for the same. The teacher in charge for the session was Asst. Prof. Sheryl Sanches.
