

The session commenced with Ms. Riya debunking several myths associated with the IT industry, such as the belief that all IT jobs involve coding or programming, that IT professionals possess superhuman abilities to fix computer issues, the misconception that creativity has no place in tech, the fear of getting stuck on a narrow career path, and the notion that all programmers are geniuses. She also stressed on the importance of a positive attitude in thriving in the IT industry. She highlighted key factors that contribute to individual success in this field, including logical thinking, problem-solving skills, teamwork, professionalism, communication skills, flexibility, a never-give-up attitude, and the commitment to continuous learning.
Ms. Riya provided insights into various careers related to the IT industry. She delved into the roles and sub-roles within each career path, including Software Engineer, Software Tester, System Administrator, Network Engineer, Dev Ops Engineer, Cloud Engineer, Technical Support, Cyber Security Engineer, Database Administrator, Data Engineer, Graphics Designer, and Technical Writer.
Miss. Shaina Kamat, student of FY B.Voc.(ST) served as the compere for the orientation session. Mr. Showil Rebello, student of FY B.Voc.(ST) introduced the Resource Person. Mr. Khushal Naik, student of FY B.Voc.(ST), proposed the Vote of Thanks. 75 students attended the session.
