A Bridge Course in Accounting was conducted for FYB.Com students on 12th August 2024 in Room S-205, starting at 12:30 PM and concluding at 1:40 PM. The session, led by Dr. Sheetal Arondekar, Associate Professor, Department of Commerce, aimed to provide foundational knowledge in accounting to help students better grasp concepts in their B.Com programme.
The course covered the following key topics:
- Meaning and Significance of Accounting
- Types of Accounts
- Golden Rules of Accounting
- Journal Entries Based on Real-Life Examples
- Ledgers
- Overview of Preparation of Final Accounts
The course conducted under the Student Welfare Cell ensured that the 3 students (1 male, 2 female) gained a solid foundation in basic accounting principles.
Expected Outcome of the Activity:
The Bridge Course was designed to equip students with basic accounting knowledge, helping them gain a clearer understanding of the subject, which would aid them in succeeding in the B.Com programme.
