Blood Donation Camp

The NCC Army Wing, Red Ribbon Club, and NSS Unit of the College, in collaboration with HDFC Bank and 1 Goa BN NCC Panaji Unit, organized a Blood Donation Camp on 05th December 2023 in Hall No.1, 5th floor, Central Block, from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm. Principal  Prof. Prita D. Mallya addressed the gathering.

Lt. Col Jesus Furtado, Commanding Officer, 1 Goa BN NCC Panaji shared powerful personal anecdotes and real-life examples and explained how blood donation directly contributes to saving lives and improving health outcomes.

Emphasizing the collective responsibility, Dr. Vinita from Blood Bank, Hospicio Hospital encouraged NCC Cadets & NSS volunteers to actively participate in blood donation drives and create awareness within their social circles.

The blood donation camp was organized to encourage volunteers to donate blood and raise awareness about the importance of donating blood. This also provided an opportunity for the students to make a significant contribution to society by donating blood, which can save lives in emergencies.

The camp began with the registration of donors. A total of 54 donors had registered for the same. After the registration, all donors went through a medical examination conducted by qualified medical professionals to assess their health status and suitability for blood donation. Once cleared by the medical team, donors proceeded to the blood collection area, where skilled phlebotomists collected a unit of blood from each donor. 24 donors donated blood on the occasion.

The NCC cadets and NSS volunteers actively participated in the activity and assisted the donors throughout the event.

NCC Cadet Shreya Rajeev was the host for the event. JUO Kunal Singh proposed the Vote of Thanks. Lt. Sandesh Gaonkar NCC Army Wing, & Mr. Sanjay Velip, NSS PO-Incharge were the overall coordinators.
