I.PROGRAMME OBJECTIVES
Goa University, in its Ordinances for the various programmes has specified broad Programme Objectives. As per Goa University Ordinances, the stated objectives of the various programmes offered by this College are as given below.
B.Com, B.Com(Hons.) and BCA programmes: OC-66 and OC-67 respectively
- To bring the undergraduate curriculum at par with the model curriculum recommended by the University Grants Commission.
- To impart quality education at par with international standards by offering a choice of new, relevant and need-based Courses.
- To inculcate in student’s responsibility and self-discipline in the learning process.
- To enable students to acquire specific skills in keeping with their area of study.
- To make the evaluation system continuous and more objective.
BBA(FS) Programme: OA-22
- To nurture intellectual capital in the financial services sector by disseminating industry relevant and academically enriched knowledge.
- To incorporate interactive and innovative teaching-learning pedagogy focused on problem-solving and critical thinking.
- To promote experiential learning through study tours, guest lectures, field visits and participation in events.
- To enhance the employability of the students by supplementing the syllabus with add-on courses and online certifications.
- To create leadership qualities sustainable in a global business environment and to inculcate ethics and values conducive for good citizenship.
- To instill sensitivity amongst the students towards the community and environment.
B.B.A. Programme Outcomes
- To xxhibit an understanding of broad business concepts and principles.
- To demonstrate the competencies required to undertake managerial jobs.
- To apply cross functional business knowledge and technologies in solving real world business Problems.
- To display behavioural skills (e.g., communication, decision making, time management, Negotiations) in business interactions.

B.Voc. Programme: OA-23
- To provide a judicious mix of skills relating to a profession and appropriate content of General Education.
- To ensure that students have adequate knowledge and skills, so that they are work-equipped at each exit point of the Programme.
- To provide flexibility to the students by means of pre-defined entry and multiple exit points.
- To integrate National Skill Quality Framework (NSQF) within the undergraduate level of higher education in order to enhance employability of the graduates and meet industry requirements.
Such graduates, apart from meeting the needs of local and national industry are also expected to be equipped to become part of the global workforce.
- To provide vertical mobility to students coming out of (a) 10+2 with vocational subjects and (b)Community Colleges
In addition to the above, the more specific Objectives of the B.Voc (Software Technologies) are:
(i) To ensure that students obtain adequate knowledge, skills and competencies, who after successfully completing the course of
- Certificate in Software Technologies – are industry-ready to be employed as Junior Software Developers.
- Diploma in Software Technologies – are industry-ready to be employed as Web Developers.
- Advanced Diploma in Software Technologies – are industry-ready to be employed as Associate – Desktop Publishing and Graphics Designer
- Degree in Software Technologies – are ready for transition into a broad range of options: industry (software/application developer), government, professionals, entrepreneurs and professional education.
(ii) To provide graduates with a foundation to pursue professional careers and take up higher learning options such as MBA, MCA, MCM, as well as research
M.Com. Programme: OA-18A
- To equip the students with dual specialization in accounting & finance and business management which will enable them to be productive human resources to cater to the multiple tasking demands of the industry.
- To create faculty of quality and competence in the subject areas of Commerce and Management at UG and PG programmes.
- Enhancing the horizon of knowledge so as to empower the students to carry out qualitative and quantitative research in academic or professional careers.
- To nurture personal, interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on holistic education.
- To understand and measure the current events, develop and apply independent logical thinking.
- To inculcate managerial and entrepreneurial skills to coordinate and manage the affairs of business effectively.
PGDFT Programme : OA-28
- To equip and train students in specialized and emerging fields/areas of finance and taxation
- To bridge over the knowledge gap and create trained manpower with the requisite practical skills and capabilities to become highly productive professionals
- To impart intensive knowledge to establish and manage business ventures.

The students of this College come from different educational and socioeconomic backgrounds. - Bachelor of Commerce – B.Com

- Bachelor of Business Administration (Financial Services) – BBA(FS)
Graduates of the BBA(FS) programme will
PSO1: Be able to apply financial services principles to situations in the global business scenario.
PSO2: Have the requisite practical knowledge in respect of various financial services.
PSO3: Have acquired practical skills in areas such as accounting, banking, digital marketing, financial planning or any other relevant areas.
PSO4: Be able to take sound investment decisions and undertake financial planning.
PSO5: Be employable in any financial services organization, or in the Finance Department of any organization, and be able to establish a financial advisory business.
- Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA)
On completion of the programme, the student will be able to:
PSO1: Derive conceptual clarity of various functional areas of an organisation and derive practical learning through summer internship, industrial visits etc.
PSO2: Analyse and interpret data which is used in decision making.
PSO3: Demonstrate behavioural skills like oral, written communication, team work etc.
PSO4: Demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills through core and elective areas of specialization in Finance, Human Recourse, and Marketing to solve business issues.
- Bachelor of Vocation (Software Technologies) – B.Voc.(ST)
B.Voc.(ST) graduates will:
PSO1: Be able to perform job roles at different skill levels (NSQF) as defined in the curriculum.

- Master of Commerce – M.Com
Graduates of the M.Com programme will
PSO1: Have a clear understanding of all the concepts, principles and practices in the areas of accounting, finance and management.
PSO2: Be able to apply the relevant techniques for decision-making in all areas of business.
PSO3: Have acquired research skills in the area of commerce & management and be able to identify research problems, use statistical tools for data analysis, and evaluate the results using statistical software.
PSO4: Have acquired the knowledge, competency and skills/traits to work in domains such as banking, accounting & finance, HRM, sales & marketing or enter the teaching profession.
- Post Graduate Diploma in Finance & Taxation – PGDFT
Students who successfully complete the PGDFT programme will:
PSO1: Have the requisite practical knowledge and skills in the areas of accounting, finance and taxation.
PSO2: Have analytical abilities which can be applied in business situations.
PSO3: Be able to work in the areas of accounting, finance, taxation, investment and banking, or become entrepreneurs in these and related areas.
