B.COM STUDENTS STUDY TOUR TO MUMBAI

IMG-20170303-WA0011The Department of Commerce organized a study tour to Mumbai for the students of TY B.Com from 22nd Jan to 25th Jan 2017. The students visited National Stock Exchange Ltd., Securities and Exchange Board of India Ltd., Bombay Stock Exchange and Reserve Bank of India Monetary Museum. A group of 40 students were accompanied by 3 faculty members Mr. Edwin Barreto, Ms. Anjali Sajilal and Dr. Manoj Kamat.

At NSE, the students were briefed about NSE and a talk was arranged on IMG-20170303-WA0009capital markets. After lunch the students visited SEBI where SEBI officials briefed the group about the functions of SEBI, stock markets, Investments and Savings, precautionary measures, etc. The next morning the students were taken to Gateway of India, after which they visited BSE. At BSE the students got an opportunity to visit the traditional trading ring at the Convention Hall. They were then given a short talk by Mr. Nair on how BSE functions, its origin and development, present need of IPOs, Careers in BSE and Stock markets etc. In the afternoon students were taken to RBI Monetary Museum.
