Awareness Session on ‘Menstrual Hygiene’

The Women’s Cell of the College organized an awareness session titled ‘MENSTRUAL HYGIENE” on 19th October, 2022 from 12:15-01:30 p.m. The session was conducted for girl students of all the programmes. The objective of the session was to spread awareness on Menstrual Health. 60 students attended the session.

The session was compered by Ms. Giselle Colaco, student of FY B.Com. The session began with a welcome address by Vice-Principal, Dr. Edwin B. Barreto. He appreciated Women’s Cell for organizing this awareness session for the girl students as it is of utmost relevance.

Ms. Shabnam Gehlot introduced the Resource Person for the session, Dr. Shraavani Nayak, Medical Officer, Sub-District Hospital, Ponda – Goa. In her session, she focused on Menstruation, Menstrual Hygiene, Menstrual Abnormalities and being sustainable and environment-friendly

The Resource Person explained how important menstrual hygiene is for all females, how they should take care in selecting appropriate menstrual products and also emphasized on disposal of menstrual waste. Queries raised by the students were enthusiastically answered by the Resource Person and the session ended with a Vote of Thanks proposed by Ms. Apoorva Manikyala, FY B.Com Student.

Ms. Aradhana Bandekar, Ms. Ashwini Devari and Ms. Shruti Kunkolienkar coordinated the session. Dr. Anjali Sajilal was overall in-charge.
