The Counselling cell of the College conducted a session on cyber bullying for second year BCA students on 03rd August 2022 to create awareness regarding cyber bullying and its consequences. The session was taken by Ms. Eshani Bakhle, College counsellor.
She informed the students about what bullying is defined as, what is considered as cyber bullying and laws in India against cyber bullying. The students were given psycho education on the mental state of the bully, mental health issues faced by the victim of cyber bullying and steps taken to prevent cyber bullying. Under psycho education the students were informed about the mental health issues faced by the victims of bullying, that is, post-traumatic stress disorder, depression and anxiety. The speaker provided student with an explanation on how past experiences of a person’s life can influence him/her to engage in a disruptive behaviour like bullying others.
Students were informed about anti-bullying committee of the Institution and places in Goa that provide help to the victims of cyber bullying.
