The Career & Placement Cell, organized its Annual Local Placement Fair for the Academic Year 2021-2022 on 23rd May 2022 from9.30 am – 4.30 pm. Around 16 companies participated in the Placement Fair for the purpose of recruiting students from various streams i.e. B.Com, BCA, and BBA(FS) and M.Com. 90 students who had registered with the Placement Cell, appeared for interviews conducted by the participating companies.
The Fair commenced with an Inaugural Ceremony at 9:30 am in the Smart Classroom. Professor and Principal Dr. Prita Mallya welcomed the gathering and thanked the recruiters for participating at the fair. She also explained how the teachers are putting continuous efforts to reduce the gap between the industry and academia and trying to make graduating students more employable. She also hoped for continuous association and support from the recruiters in the future. She further motivated the students to give their best in the interviews and wished them good luck. Dr. Maithili Naik, Convenor of the Placement Cell briefed the participants on various activities / training sessions organised by the placement cell throughout the year for the registered students to upgrade their skills and abilities. Later, Ms. Lizette D’Costa, member of the cell announced the list of recruiters participating for the placement fair.
The Inaugural session concluded with the release of the Placement brochure by the Principal, the Vice- Principal and the Convenors of the Career and Placement Cell in the presence of all the students and recruiters. Ms. Sheryl Sanches, Convenor of the Career Cell proposed the Vote of Thanks to all the members.
Post Inaugural ceremony, the recruiters were directed towards the allotted classrooms and blocks for the purpose of conducting interviews. The members of the Placement Cell along with student volunteers coordinated the movement of students towards the different recruiters as per their preferences. The interviews were conducted from 10:00 am to 4:30 pm. The recruiters were very happy with the way the students conducted and presented themselves at the interviews. They congratulated the placement cell for grooming and training the students in the best possible way for getting them placed at various positions.
The Recruiters present on the occasion of the placement fair were IFB Appliances, Mangal Analytics and Research Consultancy Pvt. Ltd, HR Etcetera (Invicta Esolutions Pvt. Ltd), Muthoot Finance Ltd, UP Grade Kakode Trading, Commscope (Andrew telecom), Nanu Resorts Pvt. Ltd, ReckRute, IWS Finserve, Doshy’s Living Concepts, Emco Goa Private Ltd, Adage Automation, Ascend Financial and Insurance consultancy, AR Consultancy, Haztech, and Umang.
The other Faculty members who Coordinated the fair were Ms. Pooja Shanbhag, Ms. Grishmi Thakur, Ms. Ankita Naik, Mr. Sameer Patil. Overall the Placement Fair was a grand success with positive feedback received from all the participants.
