The Alumni Association of VVM’s Shree Damodar College of Commerce & Economics organised the Alumni Reunion on 29th December 2019 in the College Multipurpose Hall. The Principal, Dr. Prita D. Mallya and the President of the Association Mr.VivekNaik in the presence of Director of Higher Education Mr. Prasad Lolayekar welcomed the gathering. The Chief Guest for the function was renowned actor Mr.MilindGunaji. Apart from the ex-students, the function was attended by the retired as well as current teaching and non-teaching staff of the College. The Alumni Association felicitated 47 retired staff of the College as a mark of respect for their commendable service towards the institution. As a token of love, all ex-students were given hampers consisting of a backpack, cap and pen which were sponsored by an ex-student Mr. Bhushan Kadam. Apart from this, some alumni had also sponsored prizes for the spot prize winners at the function.
On this occasion, the President of the Damodar Ex-students’ Association handed over a cheque of Rs. 65000 as the Alumni Association contribution towards payment of fees of ___ BCA and ___ BBA(FS) students, who were finding it difficult to pay their fees. A former teacher, who wished to remain anonymous contributed another Rs. 5000 towards the same cause.
The function was well organised under the supervision of Associate Professor Dr. Edwin Barreto, Asst. Prof. Sandesh Gaonkar and Asst. Prof. Ainsley Bernard. The function had spot prizes, games, music, dance and many more activities for fun and entertainment. The reunion was attended by a total of 346 ex-students from various programmes and batches. Overall the reunion was a grand success.
