The Sports Council of VVM’s Shree Damodar College of Commerce & Economics, Margao, organized an All-Goa Inter-Collegiate Road Running Race for Students (Boys & Girls) and Open Category (Men & Women) on 4th August 2016. The Race commenced from VVM’s Shree Damodar College of Commerce & Economics to Colva beach and back to the College. 11 colleges participated, with a total of 89 boys and 64 girls. There were also a large number of participants for Open category including 2 Asst. Professors from the host institution- Ms. Prachi Kolamkar and Ms. Mamta Kumari.
The race was flagged off by Principal Dr. Prita Mallya. The Chief Guest at the Prize Distribution ceremony was Dr. Audumbar Netalkar, leading Consultant Neurosurgeon and the guests of honor were Mr. Patrick Soares, NIS Athletics Coach, SAG and Mr. Siddharth Revankar, noted businessman and member VVM. Both Guests of Honour are alumni of Shree Damodar College.
Dr. Audumbar Netalkar appreciated the College for organizing long distance road running race for good health and peace. In his address to the Athletes, he advised them to take utmost care of their health with regular exercise and proper nutrition. He expounded on the benefits of regular exercise, balanced diet and proper rest.
Prizes were given to the Winners in each category as follows: 1st prize Rs. 5000/- , 2nd prize Rs.3000/- and 3rd prize Rs.2000/- with trophies, certificates and medals.

Boys – 1st Mr. Gaonkar Yogesh Parik, 2nd Akash Saro j& 3rd Sudit Bondaikar.
Girls – 1st Ms. Danita Diniz, 2nd Ms. Velip Archana & 3rd Ms.Velip Deepa.

The ceremony ended with the vote of thanks by Miss. KajalVerenkar, General Captain of Sports Council of the College.
