A session on Body Language

The Department of English & Communication in association with the 21st Century Life skills Committee organized a Session on Body Language for FY B.Com studentson 15th October, 2022 from 12:15 to 1:15pm. The aim of the session was to stress on the importance of body language in the process of communication. The Resource Person was Ms. Kanan Tandi, Co-Founder, CogniCue. The session was attended by 190 FY B. Com students.

The session began with the introduction of the Resource Person by Ms. Poonam Kothari from FY B.Com-B. In her speech Ms. Tandi mentioned various body parts and their individual impact on non-verbal communication. She elaborated on how the slightest movement of the limbs might convey a nonverbal message in face-to-face or group communication. The examples quoted were quite relatable to the students. She enlightened the students on how to be aware about what they convey through their body and also listed some dos and don’ts regarding the same.The students thoroughly enjoyed the session.

The compere for the session was Ms. Safaa Sayad and the Vote of Thanks was proposed by Ms. Riya Salunke from FY B.Com-B. The session was coordinated by Ms. Samiksha Vengurlekar, Asst. Prof. in English and Ms. Marjina Shaikh, Convenor, 21st Century Life Skills Committee.
