The Department of Library and Information Science in collaboration with NDLI club, IQAC & Research and Development Cell organized a session on ‘A Guide to use Pearson Digital Library for PG Staff & Students’ on 23rdJanuary 2023. The Resource Person for the session was Ms. Manasi D. Rege, College Librarian & President of NDLI Club. The main objective of the session was to guide staff and students on how to go about using Pearson Digital Library.
The session began at 11:00 a.m. with Ms. Manasi showing a 2-minute video to the participants on how the Pearson library works. The video included a brief explanation on how students can self-register and thereafter add books they need to their bookshelf. Students can use annotations in the reader using various tools, bookmark the books they feel are important, and can also track their progress using reading trends, time spent on books and various other analytics.
She also showed the students how to register on the Pearson website using the students’ college email ID. She also informed the students that the College has purchased 150 Pearson e-books including 15 books for topics relating to NET/SET/JRF and other such competitive exams. She encouraged the students to let her know if there are any more books that they need that may not be included in the ones already purchased. She also requested the students to download the Pearson application for easy access.
Ms. Manasi then answered queries of the students. The Vote of Thanks was given by Mr. Anand of M.Com-II and the session ended at 11:30 p.m.
