On the occasion of International Human Rights Day (December 10th), the National Confederation of Human Rights Organizations, in collaboration with Council for Social Justice, organized an All Goa Inter-Collegiate Seminar on “Advancing Democracy and Human Rights in India- The Role of Youth” at Pope John Paul II Complex, Borda.
The objectives of the seminar were to impart knowledge of the provisions in law for the implementation of human rights provisions, to motivate students to become aware of the values of a just and humane society and to work for a common humanity regardless of differences in religion and culture; to acquire skills to serve as human rights monitors and defenders in society through established structures in government and civil society.
Participants had been asked to prepare a video presentation on any one of the following themes: Gender and Human Rights, Migration and Trafficking, Children’s rights. 3 BBA(FS) students of the College made a short film on Child labour & Child Rights and presented the same for the seminar.
