Industry Interaction Program

The PG Department of Commerce organized an Industry Interaction Program on 9th October, 2019 from10.00 am -12.00 pm. The main objective of the session was to provide students with knowledge about various investments and functioning of the Mutual Fund Industry.

The Resource Person for this session was Mr. Mallikarjun Kuknur. The session started with a brief introduction of the Guest Speaker. He briefed the students about his job profile an d the role he plays in the mutual fund industry. He explained about various posts available in the industry and the required qualifications for the same. Students were given insights into the various avenues of investments such as mutual funds, shares, debentures, gold, real estate, etc.

The component of inflation that is associated with returns was also highlighted and accordingly various ways were suggested to tackle inflation. Lastly, the speaker explained the functioning of the mutual fund industry and dealt with different concepts associated with it, such as market risk, asset allocation, and additional source of income, diversification and building wealth. Various ways to invest in mutual funds were also suggested.
