Career talk on UPSC Exams

The Career and Placement Cells of VVM’s Shree Damodar College of Commerce & Economics in collaboration with The Joy of Giving Foundation, Majorda, organized a session on UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) Examinations on August 2, 2019. Mr. Aashay Abhyankar, Director and Mentor of Abhyankar IAS Academy, Pune was the resource person. Mr. Aashay Abhyankar has completed his LLM and worked as Asst. Legal Advisor for SEBI. The objective of the talk was to create awareness among students about Careers in the Civil Services, and encourage more students from Goa to pursue this career option. 86 students from all the undergraduate programmes attended the session.

Principal Dr. Prita Mallya welcomed the speaker. She urged students to think seriously of this career option and hoped that the session would help them understand the option better.

During the session, the speaker mentioned the various career opportunities available to students in civil services. The speaker also gave a brief summary on the question paper pattern and minimum cut off for clearing each phase of the exam. He shared his own experience in preparing students for the competitive exams and also gave examples to motivate the students to take up a career in civil services. The speaker urged the students to keep themselves more updated by reading more books. The guest also distributed his own magazines on exams regarding civil services to the students. The entire session was interactive and informative. The session ended with a vote of thanks proposed by TY B.Com student Ms. Yeshda Prabhu.
