The Annual Placement Fair 2019 was organized by the Placement Cell of the College on Feb 28, 2019 for the third year BCom, BBA(FS), BCA and M.Com Part II students. A total of 15 companies from Goa participated and offered various positions to the students. HDFC Bank, Axis Bank, ICICI Bank, ICICI Prudential Life Insurance, Advaitaa iTech, Imperial Wealth Services, Baywatch Resorts, Chowgule Industries, Caculo Industries, Brand My Business, Doshy’s Living Concepts, Goa Miles, Muthooth Finance, Shriram Transport Finance and AR Consultancy were the recruiters present.
The preparation for the Placement Fair had month long activities such as preparation of the students data which was published as the Placement Brochure, invitation to companies, and registration by the students mentioning three of their preferred companies, to name a few. At the inaugural function, Vice Principal Dr.RodneyD’Silva welcomed the participating recruiters and students to the Placement Fair. He also reiterated how the College is making efforts to reduce the gap between the Industry and academia and trying to make our graduating students more employable. His address was followed by Ms. Ashwini Korde introducing the recruiters participating at the Fair. Subsequently, Dr.Maithili Naik, the Convener of the Placement Cell highlighted the activities of the cell. She also expressed how a Placement Fair of this nature was a win-win situation for both recruiters and the participating candidates. At the end of the inaugural session the placement brochure was released by the Vice Principal, the Convener and other members and of the placement cell and the career cell, and the recruiters present at the venue and the Vote of thanks was proposed by Mr. Akshay Naik.
Subsequently the recruiters were taken to their allocated rooms spread across the GD Hall, the Computer Science Labs, BBA Block, and MCom Block to carry on their selection processes. Overall it was a smoothly conducted and well managed event due to the sincere efforts of the faculty members in the Placement Cell, the Career Cell and the student volunteers. A total of over 120 TY B.Com, BBA(FS), BCA and M.Com (II) students participated in the Placement Fair.
