The Computer Science Department organized a guest lecture on the topic Management Functions on 26th February 2019 at 8.45 am for SY BCA students in room no.115. The resource person for the same was Mr. Pravin Pai Kakode. 39 students attended the talk.
Mr. Pravin Pai Kakode focused on some basic rules required for effective management like Management by common sense, choice between what you say and what you do and the importance of studying customer wants and needs. He shared his thoughts of good management i.e. work culture should be lead by example, focus on solution of issues and not at all on people involved in the issues that occur in office, catch people doing right things, Monday v/s Saturday syndrome, expectation setting and measuring, honest relationship, need for training, attitude, ability and agility- regular filtration is a must. He mentioned that he always gives credit of his business success to his employees. Lastly he said that the most critical of all is to “Manage Yourself”.
