A field trip was organised for SY B.Com Business Law & Entrepreneurship Development students of all four divisions to CIBA (Centre for Incubation and Business Acceleration) by Asst. Prof. Ruchira Naik (Business Law faculty).
A total of 50 students participated in the field trip. Asst. Professor Gajanan Haldanker also accompanied the group.
A guest faculty Ms. Gautami Raiker was invited by CIBA for discussion on various topics which were forwarded to CIBA beforehand by Asst. Prof. Ruchira Naik on IPR (Intellectual Property Rights). Ms.Gautami Raiker is the Director and CEO of Llawmate.in. She explained various interesting aspects of patents, copyright and trademark.
This was followed by a brief details about CIBA by Mr. Samay Shetti and Mr. Sanjay Mulvi both working at CIBA and they also informed the students about the various schemes available for starting a business and also how they can develop as entrepreneurs and also protect their rights.
We also got an opportunity to visit the premises of CIBA where we were introduced to different laboratories at CIBA like the food processing unit and the experimental laboratory.
The object behind taking students to CIBA was to make them aware of the upcoming business trends in technology and IPR and all the facilities available for them to turn their ideas into innovations which would help in building up their career. IPR is also a part of syllabus of Business Law of SY B.Com ( SEM IV) students.
