The BBA (Financial Services) Department of the College organized a session on GST for the students of FY & TY BBA (FS) on 11th August 2017. The Resource Person for the session was CA. Anup Borkar.
50 students attended the session titled Introduction to Goods and Service Tax.
Mr. Borkar began the session by emphasizing that it is very important for the students to appreciate that the Goods and Services Tax has revolutionized the Indian taxation system and to understand what exactly this revolution is. He started by explaining the concept of GST, advantages of GST to the Government and consumers, implications of GST for Business and GST as a replacement to VAT. He also said that knowledge of the operational aspects of GST is essential from the point of view of the students’ careers.
The students got an opportunity to enrich their knowledge on the current scenario of GST in India.
