A total of 210 students of BCOM, BCA, BBA (FS) and MCOM along with 16 teaching and non-teaching staff participated.

The Khotigao Wildlife Sanctuary is located in Canacona Taluka, South Goa district. The sanctuary is known for its dense forest of tall trees, some of which reach 30 metres in height. The forest supports moist deciduous trees, semi-evergreen trees, and evergreen trees, which were identified by the guide. The students had an opportunity to see the special feature of the sanctuary; treetop watchtower positioned 25 metres above a watering hole. The locals informed that best times to visit the watchtower are dawn and dusk when animals are most likely to be visiting the waterhole.

It is one of the most scenic waterfalls in the State and is situated at a distance of 12 km from Hathipal, the entry point of Khotigao wildlife sanctuary. The waterfall is situated in lush green surroundings, very rich with exotic flora and fauna. The students enjoyed the walk through the densely wooded forests to reach the Kuskem waterfall with the help of local guide. The students enjoyed the clean and clear water of the fall.

The students, almost all of whom reside in urban areas, got an opportunity to spend a full day in the midst of Nature, experiencing Goa’s natural beauty.

The hike was successfully conducted with the support and cooperation of Principal, Vice-Principal, Nature Club Members, NSS Programme Officers, Deputy Conservator of Forests, South Goa and Goa Police (Margao and Canacona).
