The Career and Placement Cell (CPC) of VVM’s Shree Damodar College of Commerce & Economics organized an Orientation Programme for the Final Year students of B.Com, BCA, BBA(FS) & M.Com- II, from 24th June to 1st July 2017. The aim was to explain the objectives of the Cell and the importance of students’ involvement in the various activities carried out by the Cell.
The first session was conducted for BCA students. Ex-students were invited to interact with students and they shared their experience, particularly in respect of how the trainings helped them in grooming their personalities. The second session was devoted to the B.Com students. Principal Dr. Mrs. Prita D. Mallya introduced the Placement Officers and highlighted the importance of attending the various skill based sessions. She emphasized that the activities of C&P cell are designed so as to equip the students with skill sets that are valued for professional growth in the corporate world.
BBA(FS) students were oriented in the third session. They were informed of the different activities of the Cell and how it would help them to bridge the gap from campus to corporate life. The M.Com-II students were part of the orientation programme and were explained the benefits and impact of the Career & Placement Cell sessions.
Overall, the entire orientation programme was enthusiastically received by all the students and student representatives for every class were selected. The student representatives have been charged with the task of collecting student data in order to plan the activities of the Cell so as to meet the needs and demands of students.
The entire team of C&P Cell, the Placement Officers Ms. Namita Neurenkar, Ms. Prachi Kolamkar, Ms. Purva Gude, Ms. Shameem Memon, Ms. Ashwini Korde and Mr. Gajanan Nial were actively involved in the Orientation Programme. Ms. Ekta Agarwal (BCA Coordinator), Ms. Snehal Jadhav (BBA(FS) Coordinator) & Mr. Sumit Kumar (Convenor, C&P Cell 2016-17) were also present for the Orientation Programme and they highlighted the importance of students participation in the activities of the Cell for career growth.
