Orientation of BCA Programme

IMG_20170615_111105The Department of Computer Science of VVM’s Shree Damodar College of Commerce and Economics organised an Orientation Program on 15th June 2017, to welcome the fresh batch of students opting for the BCA Programme. Principal Dr. Prita Mallya welcomed the students as they stepped into their new intellectual journey. She assured the students that they would have a great learning experience at Damodar College, as the College emphasises not only on imparting quality education but also focuses on the holistic development of students. The objective of the session was to give students an overview of the infrastructure, information related to the curriculum, extra-curricular activities, facilities and resources available for the students.

Programme Co-ordinator, Ms. Ekta Agarwal shared the highlights of BCA programme in general and further briefed the students regarding the infrastructure, library and other facilities available for the students. She then introduced all the faculty members to the students. Mr. Sunil Naik and Ms Pooja Pai Khot informed students about mentoring, seminars, workshops, add on courses etc., conducted for the students. Ms. Namita Neurenkar highlighted some important rules related to attendance and examinations. Ms. Namrata Haldankar briefed the students regarding the bridge courses that would be conducted to help students coming from different streams. Mr Sumit Kumar updated the audience with the various activities such as Placement Fair, coaching for answering various entrance exams and other training programs organised by the Career and Placement Cell. Mr Gajanan Nial informed the students about the Technology Club – TechTrendz and Extension Activities planned by the department in order to create awareness and inculcate a sense of social responsibility among the students.

The programme concluded after an interaction with the students where all student queries were answered. The students and faculty are all geared up for an eventful academic year ahead.
