In an effort to promote active learning and improve students’ understanding of Financial Accounting, a peer-to-peer learning initiative was undertaken by 2 dedicated students, Almas Khan and Sudeep Dharwadkar from FY BCom, Div D, who volunteered to conduct supplementary sessions for their peers facing difficulties with the subject. These sessions took place on the 8th, 15th 19th and 22nd October 2024, in Classroom No. 212 during class hours when no other lectures were scheduled, ensuring that students could fully focus on reinforcing their knowledge. Almas conducted seven sessions, assisting five students, while Sudeep led four sessions, helping four students. Each session covered key Financial Accounting concepts and was tailored to address the specific challenges faced by their 9 classmates (4 males, 5 females).
Expected Outcome of the Activity:
Students who participated in the sessions are expected to gain a deeper understanding of the Financial Accounting concepts. By actively engaging with their peers, students taking sessions will develop confidence in their ability to apply accounting knowledge to real-world scenarios. The initiative will promote and a supportive learning environment among students.
