The Student Welfare Cell in association with the IQAC, OBC/Minority Cell, and SC/ST Cell, conducted the “Scholarship Mela 3.0” on 24th August 2024 at 12:30 PM in the college auditorium (Hall 1). The event marked the third consecutive year of this initiative, aimed at raising awareness among students about the various scholarship opportunities available.
Asst. Prof. Pretty Pereira, Convenor of the OBC/Minority Cell, welcomed the attendees, followed by Asst. Prof. Sanjay Velip, Convenor of the ST/SC Cell, who initiated the session with an overview of the scholarship schemes. Students were oriented on how to access and use the different portals available for applying for scholarships under the aegis of Government as well as by the college, management and private scholarships.
Dr. Shami Pai, Vice Principal (Administration), urged students to take advantage of the scholarships provided by government bodies, the college management, and private institutions. The details of these schemes were thoroughly explained by members of the Consumer Welfare Cell. The session was also attended by 27 students and one parent member of the PTA Association.
Expected Outcome of the Activity:
The session aimed to encourage the students to apply for various scholarships, including a meritorious scholarship and a talent scholarship floated by the college and its management. Students were motivated to enhance their academic and extracurricular performance to be eligible to qualify for these scholarships.
