The Induction Programme for BCA and B.Voc.(Software Technologies) students for the academic year 2024-25 was conducted by the college on 01st July 2024. The session started with the introduction of the college by the compere, Asst. Professor Ms. Rama Borkar.
Mr. Sumit Kumar, Head of the Department, welcomed the students and provided an overview of the department, the BCA and the B.Voc.(Software Technologies) programmes. He outlined the programme structure, curriculum, and emphasized upon the importance of discipline, the do’s & don’ts. He also informed about the judicious ways of using on-campus facilities and various communication media such as WhatsApp groups, email, website, and social media. He stressed the need for skills and ethics in an individual’s life. He concluded by mentioning about the conduct of separate orientation sessions by various clubs and committees in next one month.
The Vice-Principal, Dr. Edwin Barreto welcomed the students and informed them about the discipline and the decorum of the college. He encouraged the students to freely communicate with the department or any other teacher whenever needed and to adhere to the rules and regulations of the college in a healthy spirit.
The session continued with the self-introduction of each teacher. This session allowed students to familiarize themselves with the faculty members who will guide them through their academic journey. Each teacher briefly introduced themselves, sharing their academic background, and areas of expertise. It was followed by the briefing on examination protocols and procedure by Asst. Professor, Ms. Ankita Naik. She outlined the examination schedule, evaluation criteria, and the importance of adhering to the college’s code of conduct. Asst. Professor Ms. Sweta P. Shet Verenkar introduced the Student Welfare Cell and discussed the various department activities planned for the academic year. She emphasized the college’s commitment to student support and welfare, encouraging students to seek help whenever needed.
Prof. Sanjay P. Sawant Dessai, our esteemed Officiating Principal, delivered a heartfelt concluding address and answered the queries raised by the students. In his address, he warmly greeted the First Year students, encouraging them to embrace the journey of learning and growth that lies ahead. He highlighted the importance of academic excellence, integrity, and holistic development, urging students to make the most of the opportunities provided by the college. His words were inspiring and motivational, setting a vibrant tone for the academic year.
The vote of thanks for the programme was delivered by Asst. Professor, Ms. Yugandhara Joshi. She expressed gratitude to all the speakers, organizers, and attendees for making the induction program a success. The program concluded with the National Anthem.
The Orientation Sessions were conducted with an aim to bring clarity among the First Year Students about the objective of the activities organized by the department & the college and to inform their role as a student in their academic and overall development. The sessions were attended by around 100 First Year BCA and B.Voc.(Software Technologies) students.
