The Post Graduate Department of Commerce of VVM’s Shree Damodar College of Commerce and Economics recently organised a Newspaper Analysis Activity for the M.Com Part II students. The activity aimed to enhance students’ critical thinking skills by analyzing current news articles and understanding their implications on various economic and business perspectives.
Several students came forward to highlight and analyze news articles from various prominent newspapers like The Hindu and Economic Times which held great significance for the county with respect to economy, geopolitics, national security, green governance, Indian polity, employment foreign direct investments and various other articles relating to stock exchange and the business environment.
The activity concluded with feed backs from all three department teachers- Ma’am Twinkle Fernandes, Ma’am Valencia Baptista and Ma’am Edrea Picardo who appreciated the students for their insightful analysis and effective presentation skills. They encouraged continuous engagement with news analysis as a means to enhance critical thinking and economic awareness among the students.
The Newspaper Analysis Activity proved to be a valuable learning experience for M.Com Part II students, providing them with practical skills in economic analysis and interpretation of current events by actively participating in the analysis and discussion, students gained a deeper insight into the dynamic interplay between domestic and geo politics with respect to economy and trade policies importance of sustainable development.
