The Department of Commerce & Management and the IQAC of the College conducted an Internal Audit of the College in March 2023. 20 TY B.Com Accounting students volunteered for the same. The objective of conducting the Internal Audit was to provide practical exposure to the students in the area of internal audit and to inculcate in them the spirit of analysis and understanding of the internal audit procedure.
The teachers in charge of the Internal Audit, Asst Prof Ainsley Bernard and Asst Prof Sheryl Sanches briefed the students about the requirements and process of the Internal Audit. The students were then guided by CA Anup Borkar to gain a deeper insight and understanding into the requirements of the Internal Audit to be conducted. The students then performed the Internal Audit in small groups on the following areas: Advertisement of Tech and Non Tech, Tenders, Sports Expense File, Extra Curricular Activities, Aided Programme Payment File, BBA Marksheet: Registration Fees and Dead Stock Register.
The students then prepared reports on the work done and submitted it to the faculty in-charge. The Internal Audit activity proved to be beneficial to the students as they were able to relate the theory learned in class with the practical aspects of the audit conducted.
