Session on Optimum Health and Menstrual Hygiene Awareness

Gomantak Young Inspirators Network and the College jointly organized a session on Optimum Health and Menstrual Hygiene Awareness on 7th February 2024 from 11.30 a.m. to 1.00 p.m.in Hall No.2 of the central block of the College. 92 students of the B.Com programme were a part of this session. The event aimed to educate students about menstrual hygiene and promote practices that contribute to overall health and well-being during menstruation.

The session commenced with a brief introduction about Optimum Health and Menstrual Hygiene by the compere Ms. Abha Naik, a student of SY B.Com.  The Resource Person for the session was Dr. Vedika Walke (Homeopathic Doctor). She began with a set of mental health check-in questions that may be used to understand the feelings of an individual. She discussed various factors causing deterioration of health and how it is important to be completely healthy at all levels: mental, physical and emotional.

Dr. Vedika Walke delved into various aspects of menstrual hygiene, covered topics such as proper menstrual hygiene product selection, disposal methods, and common misconceptions. She provided valuable insights into the importance of maintaining cleanliness during menstruation to prevent infections and other health issues. Dr. Walke also discussed the role of diet and exercise in managing menstrual symptoms and promoting overall well-being.

At the end of the session Dr. Vedika answered the queries raised by the students. Ms. Ruby Mahato, a student of SY B.Com proposed the Vote of Thanks.
