The Department of Computer Science organised BitBuzz 5.0 – an IT Fest for Higher Secondary Students on 07th October 2023 in the College campus. The fest aimed to provide a platform for young talents to showcase their skills and foster a spirit of healthy competition in the field of Information Technology.
The event commenced with an inaugural ceremony adorned by esteemed dignitaries, who lit the traditional lamp, symbolizing the enlightenment of knowledge and wisdom. Later Professor and Principal Dr. Prita D. Mallya, delivered a warm and inspiring welcome address, setting the tone for the fest and emphasizing the significance of IT in the modern world.
The Chief Guest for the function was Ms. Ekta Agarwal, Founder and CEO – S.S. Technologies, Chairperson, SDCCE Comp. Science Council, who delivered an insightful address, offering valuable perspectives on the evolving landscape of Information Technology. She emphasized how events of this nature serve as a vital platform for young minds to gain a comprehensive understanding in the field of IT and it fosters valuable networking opportunities. Principal Dr. Prita D. Mallya and Vice-Principal Dr. Edwin Barreto, along with Faculty In-charge of the event Ms. Rama Borkar and Ms. Zakiya Tahir, welcomed the gathering. Principal Dr. Prita D. Mallya presented a memento to the Chief Guest in appreciation of her valuable contribution. Mr. Malik Rehan, the Student Coordinator of the Event briefed the participants about the event. The Inaugural function was compered by Ms. Kezia, Student of FYBCA.
Five Higher Secondary schools participated in the BitBuzz 5.0 event:

The valedictory function commenced at 5 PM, with Ms. Anushree serving as the compere. The Vice Principal Dr. Edwin Barreto then delivered an address to the gathering. Following this, Ms. Sweta Verenkar, Assistant Professor in Computer Science briefed the students about the B.C.A and B.Voc(ST) programmes offered by our college, showcasing their merits. Additionally, she presented a curated reel from the “Reel-O-Jugaad” (Reel making/Offstage) event.
The Vote of Thanks was delivered graciously by Ms. Rama Borkar, Faculty in-charge of BitBuzz event. The Final Winners of BitBuzz 5.0 were S.S. Angle Higher Secondary School, Mashem, Canacona, Goa with 350 points. The Runners Up were Rosary Higher Secondary School, Navelim with 290 points. The BitBuzz 5.0 Logo was designed by Mr. Sandesh Gaundalker, Communication Designer (Graphics & Animation) visiting faculty. Mr. Malik Rehan, student of TY B.Voc(ST) and Mr. Dipam Naik, student of SY BCA were the students in-charge for the event. The competition was appreciated and enjoyed by all the participants.
