The Career Cell of the College, in collaboration with IMS Learning Resources Pvt. Ltd. Mumbai, organized a counseling and guidance session on the topic ‘Awareness Programme on Competitive Exams,’ covering GPSC, UPSC, Staff Selection Commission, MBA, and Public Sector Banks. This initiative aligns with the directive from the Directorate of Higher Education, aiming to offer comprehensive coaching to students for success in State and National-level competitive exams, securing jobs, and gaining admission to Higher Education Institutes and Professional Institutes. Thus, in the interest of the student community the Career cell organised a session on 1st September 2023, from 11.15 am to 12.15pm.
Assistant Professor Pooja Shanbhag, Convenor, Career Cell, welcomed the esteemed Resource Person, Mr. Shrikant Gosavi, a seasoned Mentor and Trainer at IMS. He emphasized the primary objective of the session is to provide valuable guidance and insights to students interested in government jobs and those pursuing higher education.
Mr. Shrikant Gosavi commenced by providing a comprehensive overview of various competitive exams conducted across India and specifically in Goa. He elucidated the types of competitive exams, the examination processes, selection criteria, and their significance in diverse fields, including government jobs, higher education, and professional certifications. He also discussed the plethora of career opportunities available to individuals who excel in competitive exams, featuring success stories to inspire the participants. Mr. Gosavi explained in detail the effective preparation strategies for competitive exams. He discussed the importance of structured study plans, time management techniques, and optimal resource utilization. Valuable tips and techniques for improving study habits were shared, along with information on the availability of coaching institutes offering support and guidance for these competitive exams.
The session successfully informed participants about various competitive exams, their significance, and the strategic approaches required for preparation. The event concluded at 12:15 pm with a Vote of Thanks proposed by Ms. Sakshi Ganguli, a student of S.Y.B.Com D. 90 students attended the session.
