The Students’ Council of the College organized Friendship Day for the students on 19th August 2023 to celebrate the spirit of friendship and bond of togetherness. The event was a remarkable platform for students to come together and commemorate the cherished bonds of friendship that thrive within the College community.
The Friendship Day event provided an incredible platform for the students to showcase their talents. The Various competitions under off stage Event category were:
- DIY Bracelet Making – DIY Bracelet Making began at 8.30 am in Hall 1. The participants were given 1 hour to make bracelets. There were 28 participants for the competition. The judging criteria were creativity, craftsmanship, overall presentation and adherence to theme. Judges for Bracelet Making were: Ms. Delisha Rebello, Asst. Prof in Commerce and Dr. Monica M. Patil, Asst. Prof in English.
- DIY Card Making-DIY Card Making began at 8.30 am in Hall 1. The participants were given 1 hour to make Cards. There were 13 participants for the competition. The Judging criteria were creativity, adherence to theme, craftsmanship and overall presentation. Judges for DIY Card Making were: Ms. Marjina Shaikh, Asst. Prof in Commerce and Ms. Saruka N. Kalgutkar, Asst. Prof in Economics.
- Reel Making-Participants were required to make reels of 30 seconds to 1 minute covering both onstage and offstage performances within the campus and submit a suitable caption along with the reel. There were 8 participants for the competition. The Judging criteria were Relevance to topic, Creativity, Presentation and Originality. Judges for Reel Making Competition were: Mr. Ramkrishna Reddy, Asst. Prof in Computer Science and Mr. Omkar Pawaskar, Asst. Prof in Management.
The formal function started at 10.30 am. The Principal in her welcome address set an encouraging tone for the event and emphasized the significance of friendship within the College community. Ms. Saakshi Ganguli and Ms. Mallita Dessai were the Comperes for overall event.
After such a beautiful beginning, the day entered into the main program. The event featured a diverse range of activities like Musical performance by the freshers, Musical Skit by Alrich and Team, Group Dance by Mithali and Team, heartwarming video presentation, Mr. & Ms. Fresher Contest, Duo Dance by Khushanti & Tanvi and Duo Dance by Pavitra & Swetathat captivated the audience and celebrated the essence of friendship.
Finally, the winners of both off-stage and on-stage events were announced, recognizing the efforts and talents of the participants.

3rd place – Muriel Carvalho and Riya Shinde

1st place – Vishnu Patel
2nd place – Neeraj Aroskar
3rd place – Fahad Javed
The Winners for Mr. and Miss Fresher were:

Miss Fresher – Ayesha Rafiq
The celebration concluded on a grateful note with a Vote of Thanks by Dr. Maithili Naik, the Convenor of the Student Council. Her words expressed appreciation for everyone’s involvement in making the event a resounding success. The Friendship Day celebration was a heartwarming and memorable event that embodied the significance of fostering connections and celebrating friendships. The leadership of Council members and participation of students contributed to the success of the event and the spirit of unity.
