The Department of Computer Science organized a hands-on workshop for the students of Higher Secondary Schools in South Goa on 17th August 2023 from 11:30 am to 2:00 pm in the college Lab. The Workshop was on “Creative Design Mastery: Canva and AI Techniques”. The Resource person was Mr. Ramkrishna Reddy, Asst. Professor, Dept. of Computer Science. The primary objective of this workshop was to provide students with training in utilizing Canva, an online and free graphic design platform. Canva is widely employed for creating a diverse range of designs, including invitations, business cards, Instagram posts, presentations, and various other visual content.
The workshop commenced with a warm welcome from the Principal, Prof. Prita D. Mallya. Following this, the Resource Person was introduced by the faculty Incharge, Ms. Rama Borkar.
The workshop delved into several crucial topics, which included:
- Introduction to Graphic Design and Tools: Gaining Insights into the Basics of Graphic Design, Exploring Canva’s Interface, Tools, and Features, and a Primer on Artificial Intelligence in Design.
- Introduction to AI Tools for Design: Offering an Overview of AI-Powered Design Tools, Understanding How AI Elevates Creativity and Productivity, Engaging in Hands-On Activities to Leverage AI for Design Enhancements, and Exploring Stable Diffusion using Mid Journey and MS Designer.
- Designing Effective Google Forms: Introduction to Google Forms, Understanding its Interface and Features, and Learning to Design User-Friendly and Visually Attractive Forms.
The course was offered to students free of charge, and upon its completion, participants received an e-certificate. A total of 19 students from 7 Higher Secondary Schools benefited from the insightful workshop.
