The IQAC, E-Cell, Department of Commerce & Management, and IIC of the College jointly organized “Pitch your Business Idea,” a Business Plan Competition on April 3rd, 2023. India is well-positioned to be one of the world’s leading superpowers within the next decade, driven primarily by its new economy. This new economy is underpinned by India’s growing prominence as a hub for start-up activity and entrepreneurship. Hence, the organizers aimed to organize this Business Plan competition to encourage young talent to be a part of the new India and join the new start-up ecosystem. The entrepreneurial minds were asked to take the stage to pitch their business ideas aimed at solving existing real-life problems and not mere imaginations to a panel of business experts; Mr. Mohsin Shaikh, CEO of Haztech Innovations, and CA Vinayak Dhumatkar.
9 teams comprising 28 students participated in the competition. Rules and regulations were briefed to the participants and judges by the comperes before the commencement of the competition. Students put forth innovative ideas for different products and services using their entrepreneurial minds. Some of the pitched business ideas were Cocoanna – selling freshly grated coconuts, Farm to Table – revolutionizing the food industry, Real Estate broking, Plastic recycling plant, Rasoda Queen- Cloud kitchen, etc.
The winners of the B-Plan competition were Ms. Dimple Tavde, Ms. Esha Pai Fondekar, Mr. Mohav Kunkoliencar and Ms. Ashita.
The event coordinators were Dr. Lina Sadekar, IQAC Coordinator; Dr. Shami Pai, Head, Dept. of Commerce & Convenor of E-Cell, and Dr. Rodney D’Silva, Convenor, IIC. The teachers in charge were Ms. Swati Bhat and Ms. Pooja Shanbhag. The student coordinators were Ms. Koel Jana, Ms. Brionna Noronha, Mr. Kewal Patel, and Ms. Natisha Borkar.
