The FY Certificate Course Committee had organized a session on “Team Building” as a part of Certificate Course in 21st century Life Skills for the students of FY BBA(FS), FY B.Com and FY BBA on 9th March 2023. The Resource Person was Mr. Sameer Kapadi, Certified Life Coach, Entrepreneur of BizzNBuzz Event & Media LLP, Ex-Cluster Manager of Induslnd Bank Ltd and Professional Musician. The objective of the session was to help the students develop and improve their teamwork and encourage effective communication, trust, teamwork, problem-solving abilities, leadership qualities, and also contribute to the development of a strong team culture. 37 students attended the session.
Mr. Nitya Bhat, a student from FY BBA(FS) welcomed and introduced the Resource Person to the audience. The session began with the brief meaning of team and its significance for the efficient completion of work followed by three activities that were conducted to make the students understand every aspect of Team building.
Firstly, Paper Activity was conducted to encourage creativity and allow each student to express their uniqueness through the shredding of paper. After that, students were split up into groups and instructed to form a line for Chinese Whispers. The students gained knowledge of effective communication and listening skills through this practice.
Later Gown Designing Challenge was held where the students were divided into groups and given a set of materials to design a perfect ballroom grown within a specified time frame. This activity required teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
The activities were engaging and required students to work together to achieve a common goal. The session assisted students to identify areas where they needed to improve, such as communication and trust-building skills. The students were able to work together effectively, communicate better, and solve problems more efficiently. The session ended with a Vote of Thanks proposed by Mr. Ahmed Ansari, a student of FY BBA(FS). Ms. Vinaya Kirloskar, Assistant Professor in Commerce was the teacher in charge for the session.
