The Department of Commerce and Management and the Commerce Club organized a one-day State Level Student Seminar on ‘Rediscovering Business Practices Post Covid 19’ on 4th March 2023 in the Hall 2 of the College. The event was organized at the State Level this year as a part of the Golden Jubilee Celebrations of the College. The judges for the competition were Dr. Smita Sanzgiri, Associate Professor, GVM’s Gopal Govind Poy Raiturcar College of Commerce & Economics, Farmagudi and Mr. Shripad Marathe, Asst. Professor in Commerce, Swami Vivekananda College of Commerce, Borim. The participating colleges were:
- Rosary College of Commerce & Arts – Business Opportunities explored by Women during Covid Pandemic – An Empirical Study
- Government College of Arts, Science & Commerce, Quepem – Impact of Digital Marketing on Consumer Behavior
- Government College of Commerce & Economics, Borda – Work-life Balance among Working Women: A Study in South Goa
- CES College of Arts & Commerce – A study of Digital Payments Adoption by Retailers in Cuncolim, Goa
The following papers were presented by the teams of our college:

- Moonlighting: Nightmare or Paradise for the IT Sector
- Evaluation of Consumer Buying Behavior after the Introduction of Digitalized Payment System in South Goa District

- Moving Towards a Cashless Economy
The Seminar began with the Inaugural function. The Principal of the College Prof. Prita D. Mallya welcomed the audience and wished all the participants a fruitful learning. The Vote of Thanks at the Inaugural function was proposed by Dr. Anjali Sajilal, B.Com Programme Coordinator.
The teams then enthusiastically presented their papers to the audience, after which they were asked questions by the judges. The Valedictory Session began with the remarks by the judges. Dr. Sanzgiri congratulated the students for their efforts and emphasized the importance of conducting extensive literature review. Mr. Shripad Marathe urged the students to be open to research and to persistently strive in their research endeavours.
The results of the competition were declared by the teacher in charge Ms. Sushrusha Naik Khandekar. The overall winners were Team Marketing Rangers of Damodar College with their paper titled ‘Moving towards a Cashless Economy’. Ms. Abha Naik from FY B.Com C was declared winner of the coveted title of ‘Commerce Wizard of the Year’. The Commerce Club in-charge Asst. Prof. Sheryl Sanches proposed the Vote of Thanks.
