5 Students of the College – Roshni Khatun, Koel Jana, Saakshi Ganguli, Akshada Salkar and Sujal Naik – were named the Rainbow Ambassadors by Red Dot Foundation. The ambassadors organized a series of events like Poster Making Competition, Book Mark Competition, Slogan Competition, Session on Digital Safety, Rally, Reel Competition, Quiz Competition, and Debate Competition for students of the College. The main objective of all the events organized in January and February 2023 was to create awareness about the POSH Act, Mental Health, Stress Management, Power & Privilege, Digital Safety, Indian Law, Harassment, Feminism in India, and Gender Equality. Rainbow Ambassadors created the official WhatsApp group for the events and received a good response. Many students joined the group and they were as excited to learn something new.

On 25th January the rainbow ambassador conducted an interactive session on digital safety for the students. In the session, students were given 5 case studies to analyze and tell whether the act was punishable or not. Students actively participated, answered and enjoyed the process. Some of the students also shared their experiences. A few community guidelines were explained along with brief discussion about the meaning of digital safety, preventive measures to be digitally safe, various IPC section and where and how to file a complaint.

The Rainbow Ambassadors of Red Dot Foundation organised a Rally on the theme ‘Stop Inequality and sexual harassment’. 45 students participated in the rally from Shree Damodar College to Maruti Temple, and back from 11 am to 12:30 pm. The rally drew an audience of almost 500 people.

The Prize Distribution Ceremony was held on 1st March 2023. Miss Roshni Khatun, rainbow ambassador read out the Report of Training and Activities conducted. Dr. Lina Sadekar, IQAC Coordinator introduced Ms. Tania Echaporia, COO of Red Dot Foundation & Ms. Meera Menezes, Program and Outreach Officer of Red Dot Foundation. Certificates were distributed to all the winners. The function ended with the Vote of Thanks by Dr. AnjaliSajilal, Convenor of Women’s Cell & IC.
