In observance of Vigilance Awareness Week, the Fine Arts Club and the Literary Club of the Cultural Council organized a Poster-Making Competition and Slogan-Writing Competition on 05th and 6th November 2022 respectively in the College campus from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The competitions were open to all students of the College. The topic for the competitions was ‘Preventive Vigilance and the Role of Citizens’.
Students were encouraged to create their posters and slogans in accordance with the topic of the competition keeping in view the objective of spreading awareness on being vigilant as well as the role that each citizen has to play. The competition witnessed a tremendous response of 18 teams participating (two members each) for the Poster Making Competition, and 8 students participated in Slogan Writing Competition. It provided a platform for the students to showcase their artistic skills and meet the objective of the competition. The posters and slogans were judged on the basis of adherence to the theme, artistic composition, overall presentation and originality.
For the Poster Making Competition, the first place was bagged by Ms. Naira Shaikh and Ms. Sushma Adhikari of TY B.Com (D), the second place went to Ms. Ruby Mahto and Ms. Riva Fernandes of FY B.Com (D), the third place was bagged by Ms. Mizba Bi Shaikh and Mr. Ashley D’Souza SY B.Com (B), the first consolation place went to Ms. Seedal Fernandes and Mr. Mark Soares of SY B.Com (D), the second consolation place went to Ms. Sejal Goes and Ms. Shaina Antao of FY B.Com (D), while third consolation place was bagged by Ms. Mahek Shaikh and Ms. Tanu Rani Pandit of SY B.Com (C).
For the Slogan Writing competition three students won prizes. The first place was secured by Ms. Ruby Mahto, FYB.Com (D) whereas the second and third place were bagged by Ms. Koel Jana and Mr. Kewal Patel, SY B.Com.
The judges for the Poster Making competition were Asst. Prof. Ms. Samikska Vengurlekar and Asst. Prof. Ms. Aradhana Bandekar. Ms. Marjina Shaikh, Asst. Prof in Commerce judged the Slogan Writing Competition.
The Poster Making competition was coordinated by the Fine Arts Club faculty in-charge, Ms. Lizette D’Costa, and the Slogan Writing competition was coordinated by Literary Club in-charge Ms. Samiksha Vengurlekar.
